Stern develops a six year codependent relationship with the skill of Hemingway.
Questioning the past, and the way things should be, the main character
epitomizes the college struggle. Structurally convincing, the author exposes
feelings and struggling emotions through a period of time when internally asked
questions build until climaxing in a surprising way. Situations encountered
challenge the characters to lives of recklessness in a most extreme manner.
Nameless, the characters appear as true embodiments of everyday people, and
this helps the reader to identify with "that person." Grippingly surprising,
this novel kept me on edge, and in the end, touched me. I will not forget this
book!
