This is my official author photo for my first novel, The Long Haul (Soft Skull Press, 2003). Steve Wiley took it. He used to be Richard Avedon's assistant.

I did this ad campaign for a design company called Slaughter Hanson. It had something to do with a line of carpets called, New York Stories. They chose three NYC based writers. I was one of them. I wonder if they chose me because my skin is the same color as their carpets.

I did a reading in Pomfret, CT. The guy setting it up had a painter make these. The painter's name is JP Jaquet. I think they're cool.
